iOS 17 is here! As an Apple super fan, I have been waiting for this moment forever. The keynote unveiling all the new features had me jumping up and down in my seat. I’m so pumped to get my hands on the latest and greatest OS from Apple. This update is going to take my iPhone to a whole new level!
Let me tell you, iOS 17 is packed with so many cool new features, big and small. I watched the feature video multiple times to make sure I didn’t miss anything. After taking pages of notes, I’m ready to highlight some of my favorite additions coming in iOS 17. Get ready, because your iPhone is about to get a major glow up!
One of the first things that caught my eye was the new horizontal alignment for photos. As an amateur Instagram photographer, this is a game changer! Having a level indicator right in the camera app will help me snap perfectly aligned horizon shots every time. No more crooked buildings or wonky landscapes. Leveling up my photo game has never been easier thanks to this awesome new camera tool.
Sticking with the camera upgrades, iOS 17 takes Apple’s subject selection technology to the next level by extending it to videos too. Being able to easily isolate and move a subject, even in motion, opens up a whole new world of creative editing possibilities. Farewell boring backgrounds, hello customized videos! This feature alone has me giddy with excitement about what I’ll be able to produce. So much creative potential!
Of course it wouldn’t be a true iOS update without some major improvements to Messages. iOS 17 really delivers here by making sharing photos in chats easier than ever. With just a long press on the plus button, you can now access and directly attach photos without leaving the Messages app. Simple, fast, efficient. Everything messaging should be! No more fumbling through multiple apps to find that perfect reaction gif.

- Fade between songs – the ultimate seamless playlist experience. Goodbye abrupt stops, hello smooth transitions.
- Animated album art – makes listening to music a visually stunning experience.
- Multi-timer support – schedule and track overlapping timers right from your lock screen. No more burning the cookies because you forgot the second timer!
- Code auto-delete – say goodbye to the plague of filling up your messages with one-time security codes. iOS 17 cleans them up for you automatically. Genius!
- Listen to webpages – web surfing will never be the same now that Siri can read any article aloud to you, no matter what site you’re on. The future is here!
- Undo widget move – accidentally put a widget somewhere weird? Just shake your phone to undo it thanks to the new “magic” gesture. Cue the oohs and aahs.
- Find My Watch – use the new Find My controls to make your Apple Watch start chirping when you misplace it nearby. No more frantic searching under couch cushions!
